Stupid things amuse stupid people!

It's my birthday tomorrow, and it's also weigh in day. If I manage to lose 2.5lb that means I will have lost a total of 33lb on my 33rd birthday. Is it just me that thinks that would be cool?!

It's flipping cold back in England!

Well, I have just got back from a wonderful holiday at Mum and Dads in Spain. For those of you that follow, see www.montepego.co.uk

It's always a chilled out and very relaxing holiday seeing them. My batteries are re-charged, I have a healthy glow from the sunshine and it's done me the world of good.

It was lovely seeing Mum and Dad. They could tell I had lost weight and seemed really happy and proud of me. Whenever we saw any of their friends Dad kept making comments like "you'll see a lot less of her next time!" and while I felt slighly embarrassed I also felt good that I was obviously making him proud of me.

I had a sneeky peek on the scales today, and amazingly it looks like I have managed to lose some weight while I have been away. I'm not getting my hopes up too much as my scales don't always match the WW ones at weigh in, but I can also tell in my clothes. They do not feel any tighter and I feel well.

If I do lose weight, it will be brilliant as while I didn't go mad with food - Mum and Dad helped a lot by making lots of WW food, I have relaxed and indulged in holiday drinking. You have to relax and let go a bit on holiday don't you? I have been mindful of my weigh though, for example one night we went to an Italian restaurant and I had a pizza and I made a decision before I even ordered it that I would only eat half. I stuck to that, and felt full and satisfied without going mad.

It's always sad when a holiday comes to an end, and even worse when I have to say goodbye to my parents - I cry like a baby!! But, it's also good to be home to see my wonderful boyfriend again and also to feel in control of my diet again!

We're all off to sunny Spain... via the Chinese!

Ok, all ready to go now. We fly at 3.20pm - so excited. Can't wait to see Mum and Dad, Meggie the dog and chillout in the Spanish sunshine.

We went for a chinese tonight. I have been good point wise all week so let my hair down a bit tonight. We always go for a meal the night before holiday, I think it's a nice way to get it all started.

I have no idea how much I will weigh on my return. I plan to be good, but I also plan to relax. If I put on a lb or so, it's not the end of the world. I have lost over 2 stone, and I'll soon get back on track. I can't be good ALL the time. All work and no play makes Jo a bored dieter!

So, I will be back soon after 8 days sunning myself in beautiful Monte Pego.

Packing and chucking out clothes

I have been packing for holiday tonight and had a good sort out at the same time. Apart from one top and one pair of jeans that I am keeping as my'before and after fat clothes' I threw out everything that was too big for me. I know I should have sent some of it to charity shops, and I definitely will do next time, but I found it very uplifting and theraputic to chuck a big bag of sack like clothes in the wheelie bin!

I'm dead excited about holiday now, only two days to go! I have picked my travelling outfit. I wanted something comfy, cool as (I hope) it will be hot when I arrive in Spain. But above all I wanted an outfit that showed off my weight loss nicely. I haven't seen Mum and Dad since Christmas and I want them to go WOW when they see me at the airport. Fingers crossed!!

Week 10 Weigh In

Wey Hey!

Last weeks half pound disappointment is all forgotten, I lost 4.5lb this week giving me a total of 30.5lb. I'm so happy, I had set myself a mini goal of losing 2 stone before going to see Mum and Dad in Spain and I have exceeded it by 2.5lb :o)

I'm now in the 15's, having gone from 17 stone 13lb to 15 stone 10.5lb. Yay!!

So, I'm off on my hols this saturday - Mum has been gettoing all her weigh watchers stuff for me, so hopefully I won't have a bad week. I'll still let me hair down a bit, but I don't want to go mad.

My next weigh in will be in two weeks time, on my birthday. How cool would be it if I could lose a total of 33lb on my 33rd birthday!

Weekend Off & Trip to NEW YORK!!

After my disappointing weigh in last Wednesday when the Bank Holiday arrived I decided to have a weekend off from pointing everything I eat and drink for a few days. I felt that points were taking over my life and for a few weeks it was all I was thinking about as I was so focused on getting my 2 stone loss before going to Spain.

So, for the weekend while I have not been bad (not like that last Bank Holiday weekend!) I haven't counted anything. I have no idea if I have been over or under for the last couple of days and it's been a bit of a welcome releif. I have been doing WW long enough now to know pretty much what I should be eating in a day, I know what foods are good in points and what are bad and on the whole I have probably done ok. I am back to the regime today, and my head is still in it 110% - so don't worry Mum, I ain't giving up!!

The one day I will have gone a bit over was Saturday. I always have one 'over' day at a weekend anyway, but this was different.

Since Magnus got made redundant 2 months ago he has been job bunting like mad. Unfortunately most jobs for what he does are in London as that's where all the mobile phone companies seem to be based. Sony Ericsson had been the only one up here. I always said I knew he would get a job, but it was where it was that worried me.

Anyway, he got a call this weekend and he got a job in Cheadle, about 10 miles away!! We were so relieved and excited. Mum and Dad treated us to Champagne and it was lovely. Magnus then announced that since he doesn't have to use his redundancy money to live on for the next year that he is going to take me to New York for a long weekend in August. I cannot believe that all my life I have wanted to go there and now I am! I am so lucky, and have the best man in the world. Love him so much and am so proud of him.

Feeling disheartened

I had a really good week this week. I didn't once go over points, even on Saturday when it was the last home game of the season at football. We went to the game and out for food later and I came in at 1 point under.

Sunday I swam for an hour, and over the course of the week earned 20 activity points through exercise. I really thought that I would go to weigh in tonight and get my magical 2 stone that I wanted before going to see Mum and Dad in Spain in 10 days.

I lost 0.5lb. I know as everyone has said it is still a loss. Better than staying the same, or putting on, but I felt I'd had a brilliant week, and needed the boost after getting called fat last week by those kids.

Even before the weigh in I had been feeling down. Over the last 5 days I have seen 5 people that haven;t seen me since I began weight watchers that haen't known I have lost weight. In the time since I have started I have gone from a size 22 jeans to an 18, and a 22/24 top to a 20. Not one of those people notived I had lost weight. I am at 26 pounds now, how much do I have to lose before I get that fantastic boost of someone noticing? I don't count the people that know I have been going to weightwatchers as they are looking for the difference.

Oh well, another week done and my head is still in it, just feeling a bit deflated.
